drag and drop while viewport is on

I m always frustrated when trying to do a drag and drop and discover that the window I want to drop to is hidden by the one I took the fill from!

It would be great to be able to see all the open windows while doing a drag and drop.

This is already possible with scale.

Grab whatever from the window you want then put your mouse in the top right corner, all the windows will scale. Then hover over the target window and it will come to the front.

What you describe is exactly what I want but it is very strange, it does not work for me. I use ubuntu edgy with gandalfn version of compiz.

Perhaps you don't have sloppy focus for scale turned on?
