View Full Version : Do we need youtube-videos in "See It"?

I think it would be better to have some screenshots in the "See It"-section. Having a whole page of youtube-videos opening doesn't look very good. Maybe we can put some screenshots on the top (about 2 rows) and links to youtube-videos (maybe as thumbnails that link to sub-pages?)in the lower area? Only a suggestion ...

I really like the new look&feel of go-compiz.org and want to thank everyone involved a thousand times ... great work, guys! :D

Agreed. Also, and I'm not 100% sure but, I recall a few of them were actually of Beryl?

Yeah. We should put screenshots there and maybe create a section 'See compiz in action' for videos.

Ok, that sounds kinda... ironic. Anyway, We DO have a screenshots page. Maybe we could just re-direct the See It link to that page. And just "back up" the youtube videos page. What do you think? :D

Yes, I think that's a good solution.

Maybe we can change the text on top of the "Screenshots"-page a little bit? Should be a little more descriptive than "Want to show off your setup [...]". So like "The Screenshots show you the abilities and incredible new effects of compiz. If you want to contribute your own screenshots [...]". And we should all do some nice screenshots and add them to the Screenshots-page, the available ones are very small (I think all about 640x480px) ... they should be bigger (at least the linked image).

And I really vote for changing the name "See It" to "Screenshots" - it sounds much more familiar for everyone (and now would finally make sense).

So what do you think?

Yes, I like your idea RYX. We should talk to twigsby I think, because I can't change stuff in the html/css, just the wiki content. So yeah, tomorrow I'll work on the screenshots page, and I'll take some nice screenies too! :wink:

Sorry guys this is something that needs to be done in the wiki (the css will need to be updated as well i think). I'm not 110% sure, but it involves editing this page...

I believe you'd have to have a lot of privileges on the wiki to be able to do it, though.
