Hey,

I had been missing the Serene Screen Marine Aquarium since I'm nearly always in Linux these days (Debian Lenny). The Aquarium plugin to Compiz Fusion is available, but really no comparison with that full screen 3D aquarium with all the different fish and scenery.

Dream Aquarium works great using Wine, the demo is pretty nice, and even the purchase process where it downloads an update and installs some new files to unlock some stuff worked fine.

I don't bother using a seperate wine prefix fake windows folder. Nothing there really effects the rest of the Wine stuff. Only if I want the aquarium to appear on all sides of the cube and appear without the Gnome taskbars do I change the winecfg to uncheck allowing the windows manager to control things. I set it back afterward so I really only do that once in a while. It looks fine with the taskbar there anyway.

There's even a way to get it to behave as your wallpaper, allowing full access while doing other activities. Maybe I'll do that at some point, but really if I'm doing other things I don't need an aquarium going on.

When you buy it you get all the different fish and a few different aquariums. Very nice, plus all the preview stuff stops appearing, interfering with the serene atmosphere. I bought it as soon as I saw it worked.

Just wanted to tell you guys about it, as most of us here enjoy eye candy stuff, no?
