After setting up Ubuntu Feisty, I have only the Wobbly windows effect working. I was hoping for something more in line with the Cube. Apparently the Cube is present, and I'm able to switch workspaces with Ctrl + Alt + Arrow keys in either direction. This allows me to simply switch workspaces.
I want the Candy and Visualizations that the cube brings.

Other than RTFM, what could I try?

This is a well-known bug in the ubuntu desktop effects enabler. What's happening is that the hsize (AKA Horizontal Virtual Size), which is the number of sides on the cube, gets set to 1 if you disable the cube and re-enable it. (instead of 4). This will work as a quick fix: gconftool-2 -s /apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/hsize -t int 4In the long term, you might want to upgrade to Compiz Fusion (giving you access to the CompizConfig Settings Manager): https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CompositeManager/CompizFusion

That will work.

So, I know this isn't really a hardware support forum, but, any Idea how to get my monitor into 1024x768 @ 70Hz which it supports but yet it won't display at that? Maybe editing my xorg.conf?

I ask because it seems like you know your stuff, and I believe that may be apart of the Bug.
