Which one is the accelerated X you mainly use and why?

I have an nvidia-card so I use the binary nvidia-driver for now ... it integrates better and I don't have to use XGL as workaround. If the nouveau-driver (OSS driver for nvidia-cards) gets released (somewhere in the future), I'll use it if my card is supported ...

XGL, because it's the fastest (at least with my card).

I use nvidia for the same reasons as RYX
I am prepared to switch back to Xgl if it offered any benefits, which I think it will in the future.

I use the nvidia binary drivers too, because they "just work!" and are easy to install. Yes, as easy as with apt! :D

I use AIGLX because I have a cranky old intel 855GM onboard gfx card. Compiz flies on it running AIGLX, but with XGL some things really get slow. I doubt it will ever work fine on my card.
I was really excited about AIGLX + glucose (which uses XGL code). I think that would be by far the best option... But whatever happened with glucose? After the initial announcement I haven't heard anything about it.

I use the nVidia drivers.
Back in the old days, when I used Compiz the first time around and when I switched to Beryl, I used Xgl because I didn't want to manually install the drivers, but when I upgraded to Edgy I added the repositories and also switched to Compiz. I prefer the desktop integrated feeling about it over the to me somewhat confusing Beryl.
When I used Xgl, my computer was rather picky about the number of---or perhaps total area of---open windows. I think that may have been because Xgl used 180 Mb RAM (plus 7-10 Mb for Xorg), whereas Xorg with the nVidia extensions uses less than 40 Mb.

Ah, what joy! I finally managed to set an avatar!
When I had registered for this forum, the first thing I did was to create an avatar in Inkscape, but adding it to my profile didn't work back then...
