Tray-icon coming anytime soon?

Is there a tray icon like those featured in Compiz and Beryl in the works?

I especially appreciated the Beryl tray icon. Nice to be able to easily return to metacity when I want to use Google Earth or any other 3d-app that won't work properly with composite.

You can use the fusion icon similar to Beryl's Red Diamond by compiling adamk's link
It works on any CF installation even if you didn't compile CF
Just install it and enjoy

Looking through the list of plugins etc, i couldn't find a "tray icon". Is this feature going to be added in the future as part of the package?
I would like to see it, and i've seen a few others mention it too, but have no idea what the real demand is.

Wondering too, how one is to start compiz-fusion without it?

Just do like this:

sudo apt-get install git
git clone git://anongit.opencompositing.org/users/crdlb/fusion-icon
cd fusion-icon
sudo make install

Then start fusion-icon just by doing Alt+F2 - type fusion-icon
