hello.
i have installed cf on my ubuntu system (fiesty) using a how to on the ubuntu forums, the installation went well, apart from some plugins didnt get installed, but i found i needed to run a line in terminal to install them, but im having some problems.
firstly the cube caps, or the lack of them, when i first installed cf i had a cube cap, but just on the top of the cube, it was an ubuntu cube cap, but now all i get is a transparent ubuntu cube cap, and i cant get anything else to display there, if i try one of my own pictures all i get is, well nothing is displayed, i have read that for the moment only the top cube cap works, which is ok, im guessing that an update will sort out the cube cap issue, but is there a way i can get the top cube cap working ?
the other thing is i can seem to shade windows (roll up and down) i have an option to adjust the shade settings, but i cant seem to actually roll windows up and down, now when i used beryl i favoured the slate horn black emerald theme, this had a button along the top for rolling the window up and down (shade and un-shade) but as i can only use metacity themes i dont get the extra button, so is there a key combination that does it (havent been able to find one).
cheers in advanced for any help.

Search synaptic or the forums for emerald. It will do the window borders you are talking about. Then do emerald --replace. And pick your theme from emerald preferences.

Windows can be shaded or unshaded in 3 ways by default:
double-clicking on a titlebar[/*:m:638be]
pressing Ctrl+Alt+S when a window is focused[/*:m:638be]
scrolling your mouse wheel up (to shade) or down (to unshade) over a titlebar[/*:m:638be]

As for why your cube caps aren't working, I'm not sure. Are your image format plugins (at least png and jpeg) enabled?

cheers for the help.
the png and jpeg plugins are installed and enabled.
as for the window shade, then only one of those things works, ctrl+alt+s, the other 2 dont do anything at all, so maybe i havent installed cf properly ?
cheers again.
