Hi Everyone,

There a lot of good guides out there instructing people how to install compiz-fusion but they all seem to end after telling you to type "compiz-start". If I have missing some guide somewhere please point me to it, otherwise I have a couple of questions:

* What am I actually meant to run? If I just run compiz-start I get horrible big white borders around menus, hints, etc. If I run "compiz-start & emerald --replace" I don't get that problem, but is that correct to be running both?

* I'm having trouble setting the desktop image. Setting images on the root window does not work anymore and I do not really want to use a full blown DE like gnome (or even run nautilus really). Under ccsm I have tried adding some images in Desktop Cube->Appearance->Background Images but it does not seem to do anything.

Sorry for the newbie questions,

Dan.

you should be running this command:

compiz --replace ccp

Or, install fusion-icon (through git) and use it (it's a panel icon).
