Change the setting at beryl-settings->Desktop->Rotate Cube->Behaviour->General->Zoom to a value higher than 0. You may also consider checking the Zoom Before Rotate option on the same page.

I checked those settings. The Zoom value was set to 15. The "zoom before rotate" was unchecked. I checked it and it did not do what I wanted either. The "zoom" attribute has the description of "distance desktop should be zoomed out while rotating." I think what I am trying to say is that I am looking for a setting that would be the distance the desktop should be zoomed out while at rest. In other words, is there a way to make it floating until I decide which desktop is wanted and then it is selected and becomes full screen?

It may sound goofy, but I really like what my friend showed me Beryl could do in a video: [url:a40e7]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC5uEe5OzNQ&mode=related&search=[/url:a40e7]

That's what I want!

Thanks again for the help!

P.S. I am trying a few things out from the other post and this is what I got to first in the way of a follow up. I hope I am breaking it up better and using better subject descriptions. Please be patient as I am but a poor locksmith and not a computer guru. Anyway, thank you again.

I'm not sure I understand... Which part of the video shows the cube zoomed out while at rest? Due to a technical limitation in the X server (no input transformation), even if there was a way to make the cube and windows float slightly away from the screen while at rest, your clicks would be interpreted strangely since the windows aren't actually floating like that, but only look as though they are.

Maybe I misunderstood the question. *rereads it* *rereads it again*

... Oh! Oh, I got it. Yes, what you say is possible (mostly). Press Ctrl+Alt+Middle-click, then release. The cube will continue to float in rotation mode until you exit rotation mode either by pressing Esc, or using one of the other rotation shortcuts (Ctrl+Alt+<direction arrows>, or scrolling the mouse wheel if you started to sticky-rotate while your mouse was over the desktop).

And yes, separating each question into a thread like this is perfect. ^_^ Thank you.

This isn't what they used in the video, but there's a plugin, I think it's under the accessibility options, for zooming in that lets you keep full use of the computer and can be configured to let you zoom out as well. The video looks like they're just holding down the button to zoom out and rotate the cube, which can be done with the trick that Deciare mentioned.

I'm sorry I can't give specifics on the zoom. My agp port died on my motheboard a couple of months ago. My onboard video sputters while playing a DVD at 1024x768, and won't even think about 3D (or a higher resolution). :( Hopefully I can free up $500-$600 to update everything this fall, since I'm using the computer around 20hrs/week for work and really miss the cube rotation. Pager just isn't the same.
