Installed, I think... but i can't seem to start it on boot..

Hi, yh whenever I try to add compiz to the session programs it just gets rid of it straight after i close the window... any ideas?

Have you tried to start it from a terminal manually first and see what happens?

yh, it starts from the terminal. I've read around and apparently its something to do with the fact i don't have permission to change the statup programs...even though im the admin... :x no idea what to do any ideas?

Could you try and launch the CompizConfig -- found here: System -> Preferences -> CompizConfig Settings Manager

and 'enable' something; does it close by itself?

No luck I'm afraid, its not only compiz that is doing it though, its anything I try to add in to the session. It's driving me mental.
