Dear all,
i've installed compiz fusion plugins from ubuntu trevino repo but i've some trouble to configure it:

using Compiz Setting Manager i can config but extra plugins (like Expo) are without description in the config manager (no icon neither options)
using CompizConfig Setting Manager i get strange behaviour: for istance changing the number of Vsize Hsize gives anomalous results: e.g. i set 4 Hsize i get 2 and this is setted in Compiz Setting Manager !?!

Which configurator i have to use ?
Which is the difference between tha backend Flat-File and GConf (i can choose in CompizConfig Setting Manager) and which is better to use ?
How to make it working correctly in order to have, for example, also extra plugin description ?

Thanks,
B.

Hi all, i would like to know which is intended to be the Compiz Fusion configurator and if it is Compiz Setting Manager (which it's working but lacks a lot of features) and not CompizConfig Setting Manager (which not working but was great !!), why ?!?

Can someone let me know please ?

Many thanks,
B.

CCSM is working with the latest rev from git of compiz-fusion.

my version from Ubuntu Trevino rep is

0.1.0+git20070620~3v1ubuntu0 (feisty)

and with both flat-file or Gconf backend (which one is to be used ??) for example if i switch on and off negative plugin
it always on while if i put on/off using compiz configuration manager it reacts. So CompizConfig Setting Manager (ccsm) is
not working in the right way.
Other strange behaviour: i have a 4x4 wall desktop, i put 5x4 using ccsm and it reacts ok, i turn back to 4x4 and get 2x4 !?!
With csm it seems ok. Now the point is that i would like to use ccsm because it's better that csm (better organization and possibilities of changing options, for istance)
I've tried reinstalling without success.

Any hint ?

Hello bellomo,

Does this issue continue to exist in the latest version now?
