Background artefacts w/ edgy, ati

Hi,

I've got some problems with compiz (edgy, opensource ati driver) regarding the rendering of the background. Everything works fine, but the desktop background is most often a "scaled" version of one of the running applications.

I'm not sure, what to do to fix this problem. Any suggestions?

What card do you have ? chipset > r300 ?

yepp, r300 chipset

Well right now r300 chipset is unstable :) so it is probably main reason why there are some artifacts, i suppose you should check if there are some error notifications and send it to.. hmm dri project ? as bug ? i dont remamber what project is managing r300 drivers. Maybe there is somone here who can say more about that :)
