I think i'm going to wait until phpbb3 before installing any mods as there just going to make the upgrade harder. Should only be a week or two until the first release candidate, then i will upgrade the forum (This will also take care of the attachment mod that was request).

I was planning on doing it  should I not? Beryl have upgraded their forums to php3, if we want to be as cutting edge as them we have to upgrade

Its a must - the public demands it :D

Seriously though, it would be best to try to aim for the migration and the new design at once, also a testing server would be good to test the migration first.

So long as we do not rush things, it should go smoothly. I personally would probably wait for a RC2 though ;)

Forgot to mention that we also need to look at how we are going to prevent spammers. There are a few indians promoting their wares which is confusing the hell out of the beryl users :D

We did have some spam to start with but i installed kittenauth on the forum and we havn't had anything since then, hopefully i can get the mod for phpbb3 as well. The Captcha's and email activation in phpbb can all be done by a bot, kittenauth only works because it's not popular enough for spam bot developers time breaking it.
