This has been nagging my mind ever since i heard of Compiz, and I need to ask this before it's too late ;)

Is it a coincidence that the name Compiz is so similar to the Swedish word for buddy/mate (kompis)?
Anyhow, this similarity makes Compiz a very good name to me as a swede. It sounds very friendly.

Rumours say that it is related to that. As far as I know David (the author of compiz) comes from Sweden. So it is not unlikely that he chose the word because of it's friendly meaning ...

Well.. it means buddy/mate... ;)

We have one or maybe 2 winners and one is from Redmond
when this community talks and gets angry with each other about a name

One way is maybe that David and Quinn decides a name.... maybe
Then its done and we can go forward and show the world a great free desktop. :D

This Leopard is also something to challenge for our community.
