Is there a way to change compiz-icon to load 'compiz' and not 'compiz.real' in Feisty?

You could always just make a symlink (symbolic link, ln -s from a terminal) from compiz to compiz.real.

When you install the Compiz tray-icon, the installer should ask you whether your computer uses compiz or compiz.real. There's a different script for each choice...
You can also edit go-compiz.py (the tray icon script) and replace all instances of "compiz.real" with "compiz".
Or you could do what sonicbhoc said.

The icon works fine with 'compiz', however if it finds a 'compiz.real', it will try to use it. Make sure you do *not* have a /usr/bin/compiz.real left over from a previous install; if you do, move or delete it, and compiz-icon should function properly.

Ok, deleting compiz.real fixed that issue, thanks.... *however*....
When I have "loose-binding" selected I swear this is the fastest I have *ever* seen compcomm fly, but I can't click on anything inside any window!
The window decs are usable, you can min max close move, but nothing *in* a window is clickable, for instance in email you can't click different messages, in azureus you can't click different d/l jobs, etc...
Can anyone think of a fix for this? Because it makes my system at least 10x faster with compcomm.
Thanks in advance.

mrguytx since this is a different issue then the original thread title, please start a new thread
in the appropriate section of the forum. If the initial problem with the compiz-icon is solved
for you, then please prefix the title of this thread "in the first post" with [SOLVED].
Thanks
