Question about Compiz and Intel Video Cards

I have a intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 card in my Sony Vaio FE laptop. I run Ubuntu Edgy Eft 6.10. My question is: can I use compiz with this card? And also, I followed the correct installation instructions but my xorg file still ended up not working. I'd really like to be able to use compiz, but I'm a newbie and all.
