is there a way to make it so that i can bind the close window operation to a double click, double right click or mouse gesture or screen corner?

Thanks

Yes. ^_^ Mostly. I don't think there's a way to set actions for double-clicks, yet...

If you use CCSM, go to ccsm->General Options->Actions and double-click on Close Window (the words "Close Window", not the stuff to the right). Then assign a mouse-shortcut (<Shift>/<Alt>/<Ctrl>/<Super> + Button1/Button2/etc.) or check the boxes representing screen corners and edges.

If you use ccs-settings, you can do much the same thing in ccs-settings->General Options->Keyboard/Mouse/Screen Edges & Corners.

Oh. I completely forgot you mentioned mouse gestures. Sorry. ^^; According to Wikipedia, there was a plugin for Compiz that did several things with mouse gestures. I haven't used it before, and can't seem to find it now.

Using Beryl Settings Manager, you can set actions for screen corners, but there aren't quite as many options as there are with CompComm. beryl-settings->General Options->Shortcuts->Screen Edges.

You posted in the CompComm forum, so I just assumed... Sorry. There's a dedicated [url=http://www.opencompositing.org/viewforum.php?f=37:afe6f]Beryl subforum[/url:afe6f] here, too, if you have more questions about Beryl.
