[SOLVED] wrong spawn for applications

hi,
first of all really nice development, i like compiz its more responsive and faster than beryl.
and the community is really nice too :D

however i have 2 questions and dont know if im in the right subforum:
1. everytime i log in and compiz loads (go-compiz-trayicon) the gtk-decorations get loaded, i want to have emerald ones instead, how can i achive that? i checked the settings in ~/.ccs and in ~/.config and found nothing.
2. more annoying is the fact, that new unmaximixed windows get spawned behind the gnome-panel:

instead of maybe

I don't know the answer to your first question, but to stop windows from appearing behind the panel, try enabling the ccsm->Window Management->Place Windows plugin, then enabling the Workarounds option within that.

but i still have the problem that the GTK decoration manager gets loaded instead of emerald, maybe its offtopic, if so i will open a new thread, thx

You will need to change the default decorator in /home/user/.config/compiz-managerrc

I don't have the go-compiz tray icon installed, so I'm guessing, but... When you right-click on the tray icon, is there a sub-menu called Window Decorator? Is Emerald a choice under that menu? If you select Emerald, does it stay like that or revert to gtk-window-decorator the next time you log in?
