Has anyone here tried this distro?
I installed it recently and all I could say was WOW! It's fast, very stable, easy to use and the default theme and icons are simple beautiful. There are quite a few things that KUbuntu could learn from this wonderful little distro.

(K)ubuntu could learn a thing or two from several distro's out there. Just like PCLinuxOS have learned a thing or two from Mandriva.

this is my favourite distro Out of all the corporate ones and the ones backed by multi-millionaires, in my opinion this indy distro shines through :P

We could all learn from each other :) The thing about PCLinuxOS is it does not have a timeframe for each release. When the devs deem that a package is reasonably stable, and has a demand for it, it gets added to the repositories.
Compiz-Fusion is not yet in the PCLOS repos but with the continuous efforts of Gettinther, we are so sure it will be added soon enough.
That's probably something some other distros could learn as well.

My favorite feature of pclinux is livecd. Now livecd is available on mandriva and fedora, however no one implements it the way pclinux does. Simply as root type the command 'remasterme' and create a bootable live cd iso of your current install. Now how cool is that. It also installs and boots up to usb hard drive.

Additionally, it installs way faster and easier than most distro. On a fairly average machine, it takes 20 to 30 minutes, and on most machines it just simply works out of the box.
I've tried Gettinther's Compiz-Fusion RPMs on a very common NVIDIA machine and it worked like a charm. Of course there are still bugs and most of the things that didn't work was to be expected.
Overall, I am confident that PCLinuxOS is a model Linux distribution where things are just simply radical!

Well I thought it was good enough to dump openSUSE for as my "secondary" distro and along with sidux has completely killed off my distro whoring days as nothing else seems to measure up.
sidux just shades it terms of perfectness but PCLOS does come pretty close.
