I would like to have a spotlight feature.... where a specified circumference around the mouse is light while the surrounding is darkened. Also the screen is dimmed or darkened.. and you can draw highlight boxes on different areas of the screen that get lit..
Useful in presentations and the like.. What say you?

Its probably possible, but would be a bit tricky because most of the paint code only supports attribs of windows are screens. You would need some sort of stencil buffer or fragment thing to do that. Maybe I will ask the devs - it would be an interesting plugin
Thanks for the idea

I haven't looked at any plugin code so I don't know what kind of resources are accessible, but the highlight around the cursor (or indeed any arbitrary point) should be a fairly trivial fragment shader.
