omfg, what ist this ? Breaking all rules of "normal behaviour", avatars and user info on the right ? It is very, very, very bad to see this new design. It sucks.

The "new design" is default in the latest version of phpBB (the forum software)...
I believe that you can switch theme if you want to ...
Personally I think this is kinda nice for a change..

I like it, compared to the old one. I thought that the avatars to the right actually enhanced things because then you could just start reading the message instead of having the avatar information in your way.

the bad thing about forums, there never seems to be any layout options........
maybe someone could make some super greasemonkey scripts :D
(and i'm still waiting for front page layout that isn't just a big list, i.e. ubuntuforums type front page layout)... :D

It does take a while to get used to. When it first rolled out, I actually went to the User Control Panel and changed back to the old theme, because the new one was too bewildering, but that's no longer possible now (the old theme is no longer available). :( For all its layout quirks, though, the current new layout (prosilver) is clean and attractive.
I hope that more choices are offered in the future, to suit those with different preferences. I guess once a decision is made about [url=http://www.opencompositing.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=478:4ced2]naming the project[/url:4ced2], things like a custom forum theme should eventually follow.

The change to the default setup wouldn't be bad if it were still possible to change back to a different style (as was possible last time changes were made to the forum). But this is extremely frustrating. Please fix it so users can still switch back to the old style.

same here, didn't like it at first, but now it's actually quite good.....
one thing i can't get used to though is the fact that in the main page, the red icon indicating new posts doesn't stand out enough.....

So I just heard on #opencompositing that subsilver isn't available because it's not compatible with some of the mods recently added. Can someone please add some scaled down, half-way decent styles? :-)

It's nice, just I don't like avatar and all on the right. What's with phpBB? Some forums have now on the right, some on the left, we'll never get used this way.

We're not going to use another theme. We'll be sticking to this one, at least until phpBB3 is fully released. Prosilver is the only mandatory theme for mods, so when I have to install them, I'd rather not be making changes to the theme over and over again, since it's not copy and paste at that point (have to port the changes to the other themes).
As for subSilver2 which used to be an option, you won't be seeing that, not until phpBB3 is released at least, and if I feel like installing the mods on subSilver2 as well as prosilver, which beats out subSilver2 anyways.
For a total of 15 users, subSilver2 just isn't worth my time and effort (that's the amount of users who were using it until I disabled it)
