Hi, I am currently helping a blind group with computing. I find the negative feature very good for reducing glare whilst reading. On many commercial CCTV-based reading aids there exists an option to change the background to yellow and the foreground to black which many partially sighted people prefer to white on black. Could this feature be easily implemented into future releases? Better still would be an option to cycle through the different colour schemes (normal, inverted, yellow/black) so the viewer can easily find which is most comfortable for a given application.

Thanks for the great work so far, keep it up!

Heya davidknight24
Well this idea is not for the enthusiast crowd "our biggest user base" BUT we feel
it is VERY important to support. I have just talked to the devs and they are already
working on this. This will compliment the input enabled zoom plugin. Thank you
for your interest and support. We look forward to making the computer experience
more comfortable for the visually impaired.

Thanks,
Jupiter

I'm going to work on color filters as part of Summer of Code this year, so you can expect such things to get live in a near future :)
Btw, I'd be very interested in discussing that sort of stuff with people who would actually use the filters. If you are interested, could you mail me at ixce [at] opencompositing [dot] org?

8O Wow thankyou for your kind offers. I've googled a video of the kind of device I'm trying to mimic. http://www.afb.org/seniorsite.asp?Secti ... entID=3400 (http://www.afb.org/seniorsite.asp?SectionID=66&DocumentID=3400)

Be patient as it's a slow site, but you can see towards the end of the short video the user changing the filters. A particularly useful option would also be contrast enhancement as it would eliminate newspaper graininess. The other filters shown were yellow on blue, green on black and yellow on black.

Another issue which would be great it were resolved is that at high magnification (>12x) the text becomes very blocky and more difficult to read. It would be great if you could zoom into a letter and get a nice, sharp smooth outline of the letter.

Thanks again for all you've done so far, thanks to you visually impaired people can once again play Sudoku ;)
