Hello again,
I'm finding that some of the smilies are replaced with text phrases within the body of users' posts (instead of the normal images showing up). For example,
- :D -> "Very Happy"
- :) -> "Smile"
- ;) -> "Wink"
- :? -> "Confused"
... and so forth. It appears that something happened to them in the board upgrade. This seems to have been applied retroactively, too. It also doesn't show up in Preview mode when posting. The actual content of the messages isn't altered, but the way it renders in the browser is.
It's not a critical issue, although it can be disruptive/distracting when the alt text blends in with the text around it. [url=http://www.opencompositing.org/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=185:f9fe7]Here's an example.[/url:f9fe7] I see several instances of "Very Happy" which, curiously, are not recognised by Firefox's search function as such. (Nothing personal against Delfick, of course; it was one of the more visible examples.) In the absence of images, could they at least be left unparsed?
PS. Strangely enough, in some posts (eg. this one), this doesn't happen, even with BBCode and smilies enabled. Also, I've checked my Board Settings and Display smilies as images is enabled. I can't tell what could be the crucial difference in some posts that causes it to occur.
