Hi
Being a beryl user i have no clue on how to use this. Before, i would just use beryl manager to preserve my settings but it doesn't work on compiz.
I think it compiles ok becuase i dont get any errors, but when i run it, there are no effects and no decorations. I am building using the script and i use compiz manager to start it. it still doesn't work. What do i do? are there any tarballs? also, is develpment of beryl dead?
Thanks

I'm not sure, but I think you can have the script use ccp by editing the config file.
With that, you can use CCSM, CompComm Settings Manager, to configure and enable plugins and decorations.
Unless you specify plugins, Compiz doesn't load any effects or even a window decorator.

Just for the record - you can start OpenCompositing.org like this
[code:d26a5]compiz --replace ccp&[/code:d26a5]

compiz works now, but i can't get the decorator to work. Neither emerald, kde-window-decorator, nor gtk-window-decorator work. I use kde.
emerald worked fine with beryl. why won't it work with compiz? I also get this libwnk warning: (gtk-window-decorator:808): Wnck-WARNING **: Unhandled action type (nil)/
hope that helps.
i will try to upgrade libwnck
thanks for your help!
**I also get the nvidia black window bug, is there any workaround for this? for beryl, i had to set it on copy, how do i do that for compcomm?

The Wnck error you are getting is not a cause for concern at this moment. And is not keeping emerald from starting.
You will need to update emerald to the latest svn rev to get it to work.
For the black window/screen bug on Nvidia look here. If you decide to try this, let us know if it works please

Doesn't this new stuff have a settings manager like beryl-manager. It was easy to start beryl and manage settings with it....

Thanks Everyone!
for the decorations, turns out i forgot to enable the decorations plugin.
and if i start compiz like this: compiz --replace --indirect-rendering ccp&, the black window disappears.
Thanks again :D :D :D :D :D

The beryl-manager replacement is ccsm, You can find it in the git repo.

If you have questions on that, open another thread for it please.
