Beryl already offers animations when opening, closing, minimizing and unminimizing a window. But if a window is behind another window and you bring it to the foreground, there is unfortunately no animation. What about including this in the new CompComm? :)

There is a Focus animation in Beryl which causes a small wave to run through the newly focused window (the Wave effect), although it might not be on by default. (It's under the Focus tab in the settings for Animations.)
In the SVN version of Beryl (from Treviņo's eyecandy repository, at least), there's also a newer Fade effect for the Focus event. But I'm not sure about the status of that feature (ie. whether or not it's bug-free enough to include elsewhere).
Of course, it'd be great to see these included in CompComm as well. :)
