Breifly skimming over the forums, I have heard several gripes about the current git. Is there a changelog of the current regressions and a (pre)release schedule yet? Sorry if I'm jumping the gun. I chose not to read the ML as it is just flaming. :(

Short answer(s): no, no, and no.
There's not much use for large scale testing yet either, since we have a good amount of work to do before we actually need you to help us find problems.
So far, everything is a bit chaotic. Right now, several of our developers are participating in the Ubuntu Devloper Summit, this will probably help when they're back. There's not much of a changelog either, but check a few of Danny's posts on the ML, he sent a mail a short while ago listing what we've done and what's left, and not that much has changed since then.

besides a couple of hiccups, including a seg when trying to enter top/bottom
image, and this png error
[code:130a6]compiz: dlsym: /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0: undefined symbol: getCompPluginInfo
compiz: Failed to lookup getCompPluginInfo in 'libpng.so' plugin
compiz: Couldn't load plugin 'png'[/code:130a6]
It does work pretty well AND i love that i finally have sound with composite desktop
due to the ccs-backend-kconfig
It also appears to be KDE pager aware, I say this because i notice that when i start
compiz, the kde pager setting in control panel, no longer changes to one desktop
although the pager doesn't display properly "it's like rectangles instead of squares
in the taskbar"
I also finally got a good video quality config with minimal tearing, still not as good
as beryl, but pretty close

Looks like you're using an older png plugin to me. Might have one in ~/.compiz/plugins maybe?

Out of curiosity, what system monitor is that and how are you getting the nvidia gpus temp? (I know there is a prog in nvidia-settings that can get it, I'm just not sure how to get it into anything else).

nope no plugin there
it did work when i first set it up with XGL, but quality was really bad
so i went back to nvidia/compcomm then this error started
i have tried completely removing compiz and all, and removing all
traces in my home dir, deleted compiz from gconf as well
then re-installed and still this error
any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

this is a superkaramba theme i made
if you have a pre 8800 nvidia card you can use these entry's
gpu temp
nvidia-settings -q gpucoretemp |grep '):' | awk '{print $4}'
ambient temp
nvidia-settings -q gpuambienttemp |grep '):' | awk '{print $4}'
with the 8800 you can use the same command for gpu temp
but it won't work for gpu diode temp, ambient temp, memory temp
or fan speed with current nvidia-settings
i am keeping an eye on nvclock repo as there has been a flurry of activity
there lately, which i am sure will work with the 8800 G80 chipset.
the current nvclock only supports upto G50
http://nvclock.cvs.sourceforge.net/nvclock/nvclock/src/
with the 8800 we really need this nvclock as it is the only way to get the
fan to run at higher speeds "it's pretty much stuck at 60% otherwise"
i've been keeping mine cool with a slot fan right next to the rear side exhaust
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835888309 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835888309)
as you can see in the earlier screenshot, the gpu temp hovers around low 60's
because of this fan
in winxp i am using rivatuner to set the fan to 98% and with the slot fan
the gpu temp stays at about 47c-50c. you can use Everest Ultimate in
winxp to monitor gpu temp, gpu diode temp, ambient temp, memory temp
and, fan speed,,, you can also use the OSD in Everest to put a monitor on
your desktop... here is a screenshot of the desktop monitor "bottom right corner"
notice my clocking too "center window", better than a 8800 Ultra for less money

i don't have AC in my home office, so temp monitoring is VERY important to me
cpu stays cool because of water cooling
