They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well yesterday I spotted the scale effect in use on my fiancee's computer, running Windows XP home.
Of course, it confused the %£"! out of both of us at the time. My XP machine certainly doesn't have it, and my fiancee had no idea how she'd launched it. She called me through because she thought she'd broken the computer.
Well, after a bit of digging it turns out that it is an official feature. MS have added it to their mouse driver.
The mind boggles...
Do MS actually know how to plan anything, or do they just cobble bits on wherever they see fit? The more time I spend in Linux, the more unprofessional MS appear.
