take a look at the Initial ViewPort setting
in beryl-manager go to
Window Management --> Window Specific Settings -- Initial View Port
as it states use "0" for sticky windows

i set the initial viewport for window titled "status" to 0
then ran Eterm -g 110x12+30+40 -n dmesg -F 8x13 -O -0 --shade 20 -x --double-buffer --no-cursor --buttonbar 0 --scrollbar 0 -e tail -n11 -f /var/log/status.log
but nothing showed up on the screen :(
// im using beryl 0.2.1 & xfce 4.4.1

have you tried maybe using window class instead
open your eterm and the use the grab feature for setting the class type
rather than entering it yourself,,,,, i say this because the syntax is
important and it may not be "eterm" but "Eterm" the same may be
true of the window title

click the grab button and your mouse pointer will change
this allows you to click in the window you want to manage "eterm"
and grab will fill in the blank for you in the grab field with the
proper syntax

oh, it does nothing for me, when i click Grab button nothing happens..
the whole performance of beryl with xfce virtual desktops isnt good..
and i have also one minor annoying problem : when i restore window from taskbar it restores behind the current window, not on top of it..
btw: what differences are between compiz 5.0 and beryl 0.2.1 ? resp. should i try compiz ?
