beryl goes blank

When on kde, I try to change windows manager to beryl, but when I do everything goes blank.. and It just stays there.. all I see is just the mouse.

Specs:

Gentoo, Intel chipset.

i am having this same problem, however to match it up completely would you try turning on your animations and then mouse over Applications in the top left corner of the screen after starting beryl. for me i see the animation but thats all.

what happens if you try and start beryl manually in a terminal
if screen goes blank then just killall beryl in the terminal "since you
know where it is on screen just click and type there"
and then post whatever output is in the terminal...if any

also make sure to turn off transparent cube and blur plugin
to see if that is causing the problem

By blank, do you mean a plain white screen? That often means that DRI isn't working.
