XFCE + beryl laggy

i'm sure others have posted about this but i haven't found a fix after browsing the forums for a while. what's up with the lag when using beryl? i realize that hardware plays a part of it. but i'm sure my system can handle it. i'm using the new nvidia drivers, edgy 6.10, xfce. the whole desktop lags, responsiveness, etc.

Hmm. Your card, the GeForce FX Go 5200, has AGP 8X and a maximum memory of 128 MB.

I'm not sure how your hardware is supposed to perform with the "TripleBuffer" option enabled in the "Screen" section. What happens if you set it to "False"?

Also, which plugins do you have enabled? I found the intensive visual effects (eg. 3D Layers, Blur on transformed windows, transparent Cube, exploding/burning window Animations) to cause (sometimes massive) lag, even with a 256 MB graphics card.

Maybe it's your system RAM? (The bottleneck in my case might be that.)

(I'm not a hardware expert, so I can't be of very much help... sorry.)
