So I installed beryl on ubuntu 7.04 and configured some things
now I got 2 major problems:
1) when I load beryl windows keep appearing in the upper left corner of the screen -- dunno why -- window-attribs say "Center " -- for example w:NORMAL:5 but they keep "spawning" upper left -- dunno -- spend like an hour finding the right option -- negative :/

http://www.keksfabrik.eu/upper-left.png
just like that -- for ANY window :/

2) i'm looking for a way to change the double-click-on-frame behavior -- can't find it -- it should maximize the window instead of shading it :/

Would be nice if anyone was able to help me
thanks in advance :p

first you posted a really big screenshot in this post
can you please start using something like http://www.imageshack.us/
this way it is just a thumbnail link to the full screenshot

anyway
i am not sure that "w:NORMAL:5" is correct syntax for "Normal"
have you tried it with "Normal" instead of "NORMAL"

i never used that specific window class, i only use specific window class's
c:Kwrite:7
c:Firefox-bin:8
c:Beryl-settings:5
etc...

but maybe this will also help you, here is my settings that i use
along with the Window Specific Settings
in beryl-manager go to
Window Management --> Place Windows --> Workarounds "check"
Window Management --> Place Windows --> Placement Mode "intelligent"
Window Management --> Put --> Misc. Options --> Avoid Offscreen "check"
I also set padding "40" there to keep windows of the edges

those are the settings i use and they work fine for me
let me know if that works

Ah nice
that worked out
thanks a lot dude :)

you also got any idea how change the behavior for double-clicking the frame back to maximize instead of shade?
System -> Settings -> Windows already says maximize -- guess it's overwritten by beryl :/

if your using the default window decorator "Emerald" then you will
find the setting there
