Finally got Beryl working and it is a wonderful thing... so far that is!!!

However, been having a few apps that seem to black screen when open on multiple faces of the cube, or workspaces.

For example, i open firefox on the first workspace, spin the cube to the second and open firefox... and the inside of the window is all black. The same for each subsequent face.

Similar happens with openoffice apps. Tested the word processors.

Any one have any ideas?
Thanks, N

Hi Adam, thanks for the reply... DO not have the machine with me... but i have the old xorg file if that helps till i check later:

Basically it is Ubuntu Feisty Fawn, Latest updated Nvidia drivers, and modifications to xorg file as suggested in this post to get the theme manager actually displaying top bar.

And to describe the situation... it is all very odd. It varies too. Normally on boot up and starting beryl the first workspace loads fine. I then open a window, i.e. firefox, but appears to be any programme. I then spin the cube, and try and open a programme again on that face. The borders and top bar loads, but the programme inside that does not. If i click where i expect File, or Tools to be, i do still get the drop down menu, but the main application stays black.
If i then close beryl (go back to metacity as the manager), all windows on all workspaces display correctly.
If i then activate beryl again, now the wallpaper disappears and goes black.

I have read of the Nvidia problem of memory running out and therefore not displaying... and this might be possible as it is a laptop graphics card!!! However, i would quite like to get it working. If not, i can survive on MetaCity, just not show linux off like i would like to!

Thanks, N
