View Full Version : window refresh problems in Feisty Fawn

I just did a fresh install of Kubuntu Feisty Fawn with Beryl from the official repo (RC3). Works great, except some windows don't refresh properly. I'm running KDE and it seems that only certain windows have the problem, like stopwatch. (It's useless as a stopwatch if it won't refresh!) I can minimize and restore the window and then it will work properly. Like I said, this is only a problem for certain applications.

I have an onboard intel video chipset and I'm running in AIGLX.

I noticed someone at the old forum had the same problem, but the forum froze before he got a reply:

I'm experiencing the following behavior with beryl : Some pop-up dialog (such as save dialogs), or drop-down lists (like the drop down completion list of epiphany's url bar) are not rendered correctly (yet they are active, as i can for example blindly push buttons), as one can see in this screenshot :
http://www.lri.fr/~kn/content-bug.png
The output of beryl --replace is :
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

************************************************** ************
* Beryl system compatiblity check *

I am using beryl 0.2.0 feisty packages found in ubuntu.beryl-project.org but the same thing happens with 1.9999.2 and svn (both with packages and compiled by hand).
This only seems to concern gtk window and widgets.
This bug does not happen when using compiz (0.3.6) or metacity (2.18.0, with or without compositing enabled) or beryl-xgl.
I'm using intel drivers, my xorg.conf looks fine (it was working up until now). Using beryl-xgl is not a solution for me as Xgl has poor xv support for my chipset (intel 855GM).
I also tried to use copy mode but then some portions of the screen are corrupted.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

My response is off-topic to your problem, but I thought I should point out that the old forums are not completely frozen, in fact. It is possible to reply to current threads, but not possible to create new ones. You may want to continue to monitor the old forum in case someone replies there.
