Wonder if anyone got a suggestion for my problem. I am running Ubuntu Feisty and got an IBM desktop with the following video card:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 04)
I've installed Beryl but it won't start, it reports the following when i check compatibility:

First, I'm not sure if this is possible, but you may want to edit the subject of this thread. By all accounts you're using an Intel card, not an ATI one :-)
Second, run this in your terminal and post the output here:
$ LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo

Thanks for the subject tip :lol: . I pasted what you requested:

Well, unfortunately, there is either something wrong with your installation of Feisty, or something wrong with the intel drivers that come with Feisty.
You can start by reinstalling the libgl1-mesa-glx package and the libgl1-mesa-dri package. See if that makes a difference.

xbase-clients: Depends: xdriinfo but it is not going to be installed

I tried to remove them also after i killed gdm but reported the same. Well i had tried also on Edgy but the same. I upgraded to Feisty hoping that problem might get fixed and still nothing. I also had problems getting by resolution to 1280x1024 which i then fixed with 915resolution.
Any other idea before i consider re-installing machine? :?
Thankss

Try a reinstall, not remove.

Finally managed to solve this prob ;) . It was nothing much than a bloody KVM switch i was using between my 2 desktops. I connected my Dell TFT directly to PC Intel VGA and re-installed to Ubuntu Feisty and all worked simply nicely :) . Thanks ALL for previous suggestions ;)
