i'll say sorry now for the dumb questions i keep asking, heres another one.
how do you shade and un-shade windows ? when i used beryl there used to be something you could click that would roll the window up or down, but i cant find anything like that now im using compiz, and i also cant seem to find a key combination to do it either.
cheers in advanced for any help.
cheers.

you mean the effect roll up/down like a curtain?, in that case you need to install compiz extra. And then activate it through gconf, :? :? :? mm don't know if all that plugins are ported (domino, magic lamp, fire), check out compiz fusion too see if they already ported that...

sorry

i have the animations plugin installed, and things like burn/fire (i have it set to random colours, mystic fire as its called) are working, there is a section for the shade animation, but i dont know how to activate it, like i said when you run beryl you get a button along the top of windows that you click and the window will roll up and down(at least with some themes) , so for example one of the slate horn themes (i used the slate horn black) had a button for rolling the window up and down.
but like i said i cant seem to figure out how to get it to work, im also having trouble getting themes to work, i can use the metacity themes, but i dont know how to install extra themes for compiz, with beryl you had the theme manager, and all you had to do was go into it and install a theme, and as long as it was an emerald theme it would work.
cheers

You can assign a key to shading in general options.
